The 13 Pillars of Wise, Sparkenation, Human Being Centred Conversations
With gratitude to Allan Parker
In 2012 I began shifting my work from presentations to primarily large groups (I’ve been privileged and honoured as a Professional Speaker to be in the room with over a million people since 1990) to small groups of three to nine people.
My focus is wise, sparkenation, human being centred conversations.
Wise
Possibility already exists because according to quantum physics we live in a world of infinite possibility. Many people are searching for the next big thing or pushing to make things happen. Part of being wise for me is having an open heart, a clear head, and willing hands to take action. We then pull rather than push and possibility makes itself known to us.
Sparkenation
I’ve published eight books, and been a contributing author to five more. I’ve also published many ebooks and over 2300 blog posts, as well as numerous articles and online courses. Writing is hard work for me and yet the discipline of it, and what people do with it in their own best way, brings much joy to the labour.
In 2011 I published Changing What’s Normal. At that time it was the book I always wanted to write. It took me three years and twenty-six drafts before publication. I was very grateful to the reading group for their patience and input! The book is about all change being personal first, relationship change second, and organisational change a distant third. In the creation of the book I invented the term sparkenation - a spark that ignites passion that leads to action that changes what’s normal.
You can access all my read, watch and listen publications here.
Sparkenation Conversations help us to make a change, a nuance, a shift when the status quo (normal) is longer serving us.
In the early days of Sparkenation conversations (from 2012) we had five guiding pillars to keep the conversations vibrant and robust - candour, conviviality, compassion, consciousness and compelling language.
I’m very grateful to members of Wise Leaders Community for evolving the next eight pillars. I’m particularly grateful to member and great friend and colleague Allan Parker for our Conversation about Conversations series (still going) where we explore and expand on check-in, civil, calm, caring, courageous, compete with yourself, composting, and continuous.
You can watch the recordings here along with other conversations I’ve had with guest sages.
Human Being Centred
Having these thirteen pillars as foundations enable and evoke our humanity as well as enabling an experience where we are all enhanced as the one-of-a-kind human being that each of us is. Human being centred conversations inspire safe, curious, and creative places to be and become, to live out loud, and to support others, and be supported in being the best human beings we can be.
In the 5 minutes and 46 seconds video below I explore the simplicity yet profoundness of focusing on being the best human being we can be.
Become the wise leader you want to be.
